Art You Can’t Eat

I’m not generally a big foodie. While I tend to get excited about certain ice cream flavors, meals aren’t exactly my main concern in life, which is why my Lego set is the highlight of this Thanksgiving. I am, however, a fan of art, and today seemed like an appropriate opportunity to share some of my favorite food-related artwork.

These postcards came from a specialty beer shop in Bruges, Belgium. While I can’t direct you to where to buy them–all I know about the place is that it’s just off of Markt and next to a Carrefour–I can tell you that postcards are one of my favorite types of art (beer is also one of my favored motifs, so these graphics were made for me). Anyone can slap a few postcards in a frame and call it wall art, making them delightfully easy and low key pieces.

I found these tiny espresso cups in Madrid, Spain right before going home after a month-long vacation in Europe. I’m calling them art because they are truly miniature masterpieces. Just as Madrid was one of my favorite cities, these cups are one of my favorite souvenirs from that trip–I don’t think their utility disqualifies them as an objet d’art.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
