Virtual Care Package

Boyfriend has to get his wisdom teeth out today. The dentist (and my parents) forced me to get mine removed a few years ago because my mouth is apparently small, causing the new teeth to grow at an angle which would result in an eventual collision with my other molars and interfere with all that straightening work that came from a few years of braces, but Boyfriend’s mouth is normally sized and so he got to keep his extra molars for a few years. Now those wisdom teeth have cavities, so it’s goodbye third molars. Considering my rather significant anxiety regarding dentistry and any potential problems with my teeth, gums, tongue–anything with my mouth really–I’m guessing that I find the idea of wisdom tooth removal slightly more traumatic than Boyfriend, who has a normal attitude regarding dentists and is far less dramatic than I am in general. Nonetheless, losing teeth is never fun once you’ve finished elementary school, and since it’s fairly difficult (and expensive) to send care packages to Boyfriend’s home, I pulled together a virtual version. Hopefully it’s okay that he has to share it with you!

(As a side note, I speculate that my fear of mouth problems stems from my having died in a previous life due to a jaw infection that invaded my brain. Seems like a reasonable explanation, right?)
