Spring Equinox

People always want what they can’t have, and once they get it, they want something else. This truism usually pops up for me when I mention to any man that I wish I had more texture in my naturally silky smooth and stick straight hair. Of course, Boyfriend and other guys are aware that many curly-haired girls straighten their hair and find it laughable that women just can’t seem to appreciate the hair they were born with. Although I still wish I had waves, that’s not why the oft-used and generally accurate phrase rose to mind today. You may have noticed that March 20 is the first day of spring–a day I’ve been waiting for since almost immediately after Christmas, despite my resolution to just try and enjoy the seasons as they come. Unfortunately, spring break on Oahu raised the nice-weather bar. After a week of swimsuits, sundresses, and shave ice, I want summer! Of course, once summer arrives I’ll surely complain that I miss rain clouds and milder temperatures. Given my penchant for browsing the internet for lovely things, it seemed only natural to turn to Pinterest and Etsy to cure my grass-is-always-greener mentality. Happy springtime!
