May Flowers

Freshly cut  peonies, tender summer veggies, Parisian streets flooded with pink light, and pale green succulents–none of these things are really associated with the month of May. After all, peonies are a wintery bloom, vegetable seeds have only begun to germinate, June and July are the real height of the travel season, and cacti are associated more with the desert than early spring months. Nonetheless, something about the high-contrast of bright white or pink buds with lively green stems, charmingly shabby wooden door frames juxtaposed with the bold grey glint of the Eiffel Tower, and pastel hued plants covered in needle like spines capture the month of May perfectly. With a palette bursting with greens and full of shades more vibrant than April and softer than June, and weather not too hot or cold, May is an ideal transition period and a heavenly seasonal sweet spot.
