Bits & Pieces: Pigeon Toe Ceramics

1. After spending five hours a day, four days a week in a rather intensive wheel throwing ceramics class two summers ago, my mind will forever link pottery with the summer months. That association has only been amplified after seeing Pigeon Toe Ceramics‘ fresh, minimalistic, bright white planters and tumblers. Soft curves and dimples add a subtle warmth to Pigeon Toe’s modern clean lines and cool white glazes, and saturated colors on the bottoms of espresso cups and interiors of creamers lend a sense of lighthearted fun perfect for the summer season. Plus, with string lights, pitchers fit for the best iced tea, and mason jar-vases Pigeon Toe offers everything you need to set the mood for sophisticated barbecues and outdoor celebrations.

2. Lee Jung’s photos juxtaposing secluded, natural locations with the sort of glowing neon signs that wouldn’t be out of place in the heart of Las Vegas are magical. While one photo depicting a smattering of blue “you” signs over bushes bears just a hint of eeriness, another fluorescent red profession of love in a desert landscape is absolutely enchanting.

3. Images of tree swings hovering whimsically above crystal clear lakes and rivers have been all over Pinterest lately, and I can almost feel the cool blue water skimming my feet. Does anyone know where I can find one of these idealistic summer spots?
