Where have I been?

Keeping busy–it’s been officially summer for almost a week now, and with Fourth of July approaching things show no sign of slowing down! Instead of leaping right back into blogging after my recently (very) sporadic appearances, I decided it would be best to give you a quick update on the future of Spin Sew Sketch.

I started 3S as a way to share DIY projects, art, and products that make me smile, but also as an outlet in which to practice writing. Having finished a fairly intense undergraduate thesis, not to mention a handful of final papers for my last semester of college, I was looking for a writing project that was fun, lighthearted, and fast. Now that my academic essay-filled days are more than a year behind me, I’m ready to dip my feet into the long-form article pool. Additionally, I’ve thrown out my previous declaration of “No more classes, ever again!” and enrolled in a couple of graphic design courses. What does all this mean for 3S?

  1. Longer posts–articles discussing design, culture, and art, and the relationships between these categories.
  2. Fewer posts–think once a week, or even once every other week, with short features on products and images interspersed between.
  3. A new name to fit the new theme!

The new blog will launch sometime after the boom in activity that accompanies Fourth of July dies down. Until then, why not turn off the computer, get outside, and enjoy summer?
